Support our Soldiers with Fry Orthodontic Specialists

Tuesday, June 29th, 2010

Since 2009 we have had special stations, in all 3 of our offices, set up with supplies needed for our patients, parents and young friends to complete letters or colored pictures to send to our military personnel.

We have sent hundreds of notes and pictures to soldiers overseas and we hope that these notes give strength and encouragement to the soldiers while they were separated from their loved ones.

As the 4th of July nears and we start to make plans to celebrate with our families  and loved ones we want to encourage everyone to take time to remember those still serving and protecting our country and let them know how much their service means to all of us.

During July you’ll find these special patriotic postcards at the stations in our office.

We hope that you’ll take time to write a note that’s sure to make a soldier smile!

Feel free to pass this information to any groups, organizations or other friends and families you feel would like to participate.  We’re glad to accept letters from groups and dental friends outside the office to include in the packets we send overseas.

Hero Firefighter John Glaser Motorcade

Thursday, May 27th, 2010

The reality of life and service was in the hearts of all of us in Kansas City this morning as Shawnee firefighter John Glaser was laid to rest.  Glaser’s motorcade came by our Overland Park office this morning, and perspective was on display for all of us internalize.  Kids waving American flags and people lining the street to pay tribute to a fallen hero should make us all feel grateful for those who daily protect our lives.  Glaser went into a burning house to save a man and did not return to his family.

On this Thursday before Memorial Day we need to understand the importance of life and those who make our way of life possible. As this day passes by again this year and we all enjoy our days off, burgers off the grill, and spending time with family; don’t forget to remember those who make our country the envy of the world.

We salute you, John Glaser!

Please Help Fry Orthodontics Donate to Haiti

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Many of us here at the office were touched by the recent devastation experienced by the people of Haiti when it was hit by the terrible earthquake last week.  My dad, Dr. Fry “Sr.”, was on a Medical Health Team to Haiti in 1973.  Our hearts go out to those who are suffering and we wanted to do something that would tangibly assist them.  We’re collecting Care Kits to be delivered to earthquake victims by Heart-to-Heart International.  It started small and now we’ve had a tremendous response.  We’re honored to be a vehicle for helping bring our community together in this touching way.  If you would like to help by creating a Care Kit, there’s still time.  You may bring one (or more) to our 119th & Quivira office by Monday, Jan. 25th and we’ll see to it that any kits received are delivered to the Heart-to-Heart International office.  The requested Care Kit should contain a few specific items (easy for us to gather, but vital to someone who has lost their home):

Care Kit Contents (put these inside one zipper seal bag and then put the top of the filled bag into the bottom of the second bag and seal it – in essence, double-bag your Care Kit):

  • One new hand towel & One new washcloth
  • One wide-tooth comb
  • One small bottle of shampoo
  • One individually wrapped bar of soap
  • One new individually wrapped toothbrush
  • One travel size tube of toothpaste
  • Ten(10) Band-aids (adhesive bandages)
